Ganesh Chandra Khadanga Wins State Level Innovation Award
The Center of Excellence in Nano Science and Technology for Development of Sensors (CoENSTds), Department of Physics, Berhampur University, proudly announces a moment of great distinction as Mr. Ganesh Chandra Khadanga secured top honours at the State-Level Innovation & Start-Up Competition for his healthcare innovation, GlycoPulse.
Designed to redefine preventive healthcare, GlycoPulse is an AI-powered, non-invasive system for diabetes and cardiac monitoring. The device enables needle-free HbA1c estimation through advanced optical sensing( ie ; Photoplethysmography ), reducing dependence on frequent laboratory testing while saving nearly ₹300–₹500 per test for routine monitoring.
By combining a physics-based optical model with machine learning-driven statistical correction, the system delivers reliable readings even under real-world variability such as differences in skin tone, perfusion, and environmental conditions. Secure cloud connectivity, AI-enabled interpretation of health trends, and cardiac insights derived from HRV analytics further position the innovation as a scalable solution for next-generation digital healthcare.
After progressing through institutional and university-level evaluations, our innovation was recognised at the state level for its originality, feasibility, societal impact, scalability, and clarity of presentation key criteria used in the selection process.
