Founding Member of CoENSTds and Former Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Arindam Majhi Visits Berhampur University

 The Center of Excellence in Nano Science and Technology for Development of Sensors (CoENSTds), Department of Physics, Berhampur University, proudly welcomed Dr. Arindam Majhi, one of the founding members of the Center and the second postdoctoral fellow under Prof. Sukanta Kumar Tripathy. His visit marked a moment of pride and reflection, highlighting the remarkable journey of the laboratory from its formative years to its present stature as a hub of advanced research.

Currently serving as a scientist at Diamond Light Source, Didcot, United Kingdom, Dr. Majhi has established himself as a distinguished researcher in advanced materials and synchrotron-based technologies. He completed his PhD at RRCAT, Indore, and previously contributed significantly to the early development of CoENSTds during his tenure as a postdoctoral fellow.

During his visit, Dr. Majhi toured the laboratory and expressed deep admiration for the extraordinary progress achieved since its inception. He appreciated the state-of-the-art infrastructure, expanding research capabilities, and the vibrant academic environment that continues to foster innovation and scientific excellence.

As part of the academic engagement, Dr. Majhi delivered an insightful alumni talk titled “Advanced Multilayer Deposition Systems for Synchrotron Applications at Diamond Light Source” on February 5, 2026, at the CIC Meeting Room. His lecture provided valuable exposure to cutting-edge deposition technologies and their applications in large-scale research facilities, greatly enriching the knowledge of students .

Beyond the lecture, he interacted warmly with research scholars, sharing experiences from international research environments and offering guidance on building impactful scientific careers. His journey from a founding contributor of the Center to a scientist at one of the world’s leading synchrotron facilities stands as a powerful inspiration for emerging researchers.
